Evaluate and manage patients admitted to the non-teaching service. Admit and treat patients on Cardiology Wards Service. Provide cardiac-related internal medicine care to patients. Devise and implement ongoing quality improvement projects for the service. Ensure quality of care provided by residents and nurse practitioners. Serve as medical director and discharge planning advisor on selected medical units during limited periods. Serve as a liaison to private physicians in furtherance of coordination of care. Assist with the professional management of the service by reviewing the annual budget, attending and participating in hospital and departmental meetings and committees, and maintaining accurate account records.
Job in Washington, DC with MedStar Washington Hospital Center. Requires 7AM – 7PM and 7PM – 7AM shifts; one week on, one week off.
Requires M.D. degree or foreign equivalent in Medicine and completion of three years of residency training (Internal Medicine).
Requires valid District of Columbia medical license and ABIM Board Certification (or eligibility) in Internal Medicine.
