This position has accountability for managing resources, to ensure quality, cost-effective delivery of culturally competent patient services for specific patient populations, in multiple units. Is recognized as a professional role model and clinical expert, and promotes a professional environment that supports continuous learning. This is accomplished by direct action, delegation, coaching and support of division of nursing staff and shared governance activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and a Masters degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration, Business Administration or directly related discipline are required. Masters Degree in Nursing is preferred.
- Approximately three to four years of progressively more responsible job related experience.
- Licensure as a registered nurse in the District of Columbia is required. ACLS is required. Certification as a CNS or NP is preferred.
- The Clinical Nurse Supervisor should set a professional goal to become certified in his or her Clinical Specialty or obtain CCRN certification within one year of on the job.
